GitLab Tutorials: Gitlab integration with Jira<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Step 2 – Configure your project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
  1. On the top bar, select\u00a0Menu > Projects<\/strong>\u00a0and find your project.<\/li>
  2. On the left sidebar, select\u00a0Settings > Integrations<\/strong>.<\/li>
  3. Select\u00a0Jira<\/strong>.<\/li>
  4. Select\u00a0Enable integration<\/strong>.<\/li>
  5. Select\u00a0Trigger<\/strong>\u00a0actions. Your choice determines whether a mention of Jira issue (in a GitLab commit, merge request, or both) creates a cross-link in Jira back to GitLab.<\/li>
  6. To comment in the Jira issue when a\u00a0Trigger<\/strong>\u00a0action is made in GitLab, select\u00a0Enable comments<\/strong>.<\/li>
  7. To transition Jira issues when a\u00a0closing reference\u00a0is made in GitLab, select\u00a0Enable Jira transitions<\/strong>.<\/li>
  8. Provide Jira configuration information:
    • Web URL<\/strong>: The base URL to the Jira instance web interface you\u2019re linking to this GitLab project, such as\u00a0https:\/\/jira.example.com<\/code>.<\/li>
    • Jira API URL<\/strong>: The base URL to the Jira instance API, such as\u00a0https:\/\/jira-api.example.com<\/code>. Defaults to the\u00a0Web URL<\/strong>\u00a0value if not set. Leave blank if using\u00a0Jira on Atlassian cloud<\/strong>.<\/li>
    • Username or Email<\/strong>: For\u00a0Jira Server<\/strong>, use\u00a0username<\/code>. For\u00a0Jira on Atlassian cloud<\/strong>, use\u00a0email<\/code>.<\/li>
    • Password\/API token<\/strong>: Use\u00a0password<\/code>\u00a0for\u00a0Jira Server<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0API token<\/code>\u00a0for\u00a0Jira on Atlassian cloud<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
    • To enable users to\u00a0view Jira issues\u00a0inside the GitLab project, select\u00a0Enable Jira issues<\/strong>\u00a0and enter a Jira project key.You can display issues only from a single Jira project in a given GitLab project.If you enable Jira issues with this setting, all users with access to this GitLab project can view all issues from the specified Jira project.<\/li>
    • To enable\u00a0issue creation for vulnerabilities, select\u00a0Enable Jira issue creation from vulnerabilities<\/strong>.<\/li>
    • Select the\u00a0Jira issue type<\/strong>. If the dropdown is empty, select refresh () and try again.<\/li>
    • To verify the Jira connection is working, select\u00a0Test settings<\/strong>.<\/li>
