Step by Step Instruction to Upgrade Perforce to 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n The step are as follows:<\/p>\n a) Check if the license is current.<\/strong><\/p>\n p4 license -o<\/p>\n The expiry date must be later than the binary release date you are installing<\/p>\n b) Verify server archives using the command ‘p4 verify -q \/\/… > verify.txt’<\/strong><\/p>\n * Note – If the file ‘verify.txt’ contains a ‘BAD!’ or MISSING!’ Example: c) Stop the Perforce Server.<\/strong><\/p>\n p4 admin stop<\/p>\n d) Make a checkpoint of the database.<\/strong><\/p>\n p4d -r P4ROOT -J journal -jc<\/p>\n e) Copy the db.* files to a safe location.<\/strong><\/p>\n f) Backup your archive files.<\/strong><\/p>\n g) Read the release notes so you are aware of the latest changes.<\/strong><\/p>\n http:\/\/www.perforce.com\/perforce\/doc.current\/user\/relnotes.txt<\/a><\/p>\n h) Download the latest P4D version.<\/strong><\/p>\n ftp:\/\/ftp.perforce.com\/perforce\/<\/p>\n i) Verify that the newly downloaded binary is the latest. Because the database structures have changed, you will need to take an existing checkpoint and then replay that checkpoint with the 2014.1 version of the P4 Server.<\/p>\n It appear you are on a 32-bit Windows instance…will you be doing an inplace upgrade or moving to 64-bit hardware?
