{"id":867,"date":"2017-12-02T05:24:50","date_gmt":"2017-12-02T05:24:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scmgalaxy.com\/tutorials\/?p=867"},"modified":"2020-01-09T09:24:04","modified_gmt":"2020-01-09T09:24:04","slug":"creating-windows-installer-project-in-visual-studio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.devopsschool.com\/blog\/creating-windows-installer-project-in-visual-studio\/","title":{"rendered":"Creating Windows Installer Project in Visual Studio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>rajeshkumar created the topic: Creating Windows Installer Project in Visual Studio<\/strong><br \/>\n1<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been struggling with Visual Studio to create a windows installer msi.<\/p>\n<p>This is what I was hoping to create in the msi: Installer opens and first page has a couple fields where you can enter various config locations, including being able to browse, and also some drop downs with various config setups.<\/p>\n<p>Click Next or Finish or whatever and custom C# code I have written gets executed depending on the choices chosen by the user.<\/p>\n<p>When looking at the Visual Studio Installer Project, I can add a dialog, but they are all predefined for me. I was hoping for something like when you create a Windows Forms Application.<\/p>\n<p>Is this not possible? Is the windows installer project just that inflexible?
