In our architecture, we use AWS Edge Locations to significantly enhance content delivery and improve the overall user experience by leveraging services like Amazon CloudFront. By caching static content at Edge Locations closer to end users, we reduce latency and accelerate load times, ensuring that users receive faster access to websites, media files, and applications. This is particularly beneficial for global users, as Edge Locations ensure that content is served from the nearest geographical point. We also use AWS Global Accelerator in conjunction with Edge Locations to optimize traffic routing and ensure high availability by directing users to the healthiest and nearest endpoint. This setup has resulted in improved performance, reduced latency, and a more responsive experience for users, especially in regions where accessing centralized data centers may otherwise lead to delays. By offloading traffic to Edge Locations, we also reduce the load on our origin servers, further enhancing scalability and efficiency.
