Our organization is currently at an intermediate stage of the SRE maturity model, where we have moved beyond basic monitoring and manual incident response but are still working on refining automation, error budgets, and comprehensive SLO/SLI definitions. We have implemented basic monitoring, incident response processes, and some automation for repetitive tasks like deployment and alerting. However, we're still improving our use of SLIs and SLOs to clearly define reliability targets for different services, and we’re beginning to incorporate error budgets to help balance reliability with development velocity. To mature further, we are focusing on reducing toil by automating more aspects of incident management, improving root cause analysis through better correlation of logs and metrics, and enhancing postmortem processes to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, we are investing in better observability tools and integrating automated testing and validation into our CI/CD pipelines. These steps will help us move towards a more proactive, fully automated SRE approach, enabling us to continuously improve reliability and operational efficiency across our systems.
