In my opinion, trust is the most important factor when choosing an SSL/TLS certificate authority because the primary purpose of an SSL/TLS certificate is to establish secure and trusted communication between users and websites. A trusted certificate authority is widely recognized by browsers and operating systems, reducing the risk of security warnings and ensuring users feel confident sharing sensitive information. Strong security standards, reliable validation processes, and a good reputation all contribute to building that trust. While pricing, automation features, and technical capabilities are also important for convenience and management, trust has the biggest impact because it directly influences website credibility, user confidence, and overall security.
