In my opinion, the most important feature in a Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) tool is inventory and resource planning because efficient production depends heavily on having the right materials, workforce, and equipment available at the right time. A strong MRP system helps businesses track inventory levels, forecast material requirements, and avoid shortages or overstocking, which can reduce delays and unnecessary costs. This improves production scheduling, resource utilization, and overall operational efficiency. While reporting, automation, demand forecasting, and supply chain integration are also important features, effective resource planning has the biggest impact because it directly supports smooth production and better decision-making.
