In my opinion, the evolution from DevOps to Platform Engineering is transforming software delivery by shifting focus from shared operational responsibilities to building centralized internal platforms that standardize and simplify development workflows. Instead of each team managing infrastructure and tools independently, platform engineering provides self-service capabilities, reusable components, and automated workflows that improve consistency and reduce complexity. This approach not only streamlines infrastructure management but also enhances scalability, governance, and collaboration across teams. Among all the aspects, the most impactful is developer productivity, because platform engineering empowers developers to independently access tools, deploy applications faster, and focus more on writing code rather than managing infrastructure, ultimately accelerating innovation and software delivery.
