Dynatrace Professional Written Certification Exam

The Dynatrace Professional Written Certification exam has 100 questions with a time limit of 2 hours. The passing score is 70%. This exam is automatically computer graded.

For multiple selection questions, that is, questions with more than one correct answer, partial points are awarded for correct answers, and removed for incorrect selections. However, this does not result in negative points for a question.

Dynatrace Professional Practical Certification Exam

The Dynatrace Professional Practical Certification exam is a hands-on component, requiring examinees to perform tasks such as installing and configuring Dynatrace components. This is followed by multiple-choice questions about Dynatrace. There is a 2 hour 15 minute time limit to complete the exam. The passing score of the exam is 86%. The hands-on component requires manual grading; therefore, you will receive results within 3 to 5 days of completing the exam.

A Dynatrace Managed environment is provided to you for use during the exam. You should receive an invitation to this environment in advance of your exam. Please check your spam/junk folder if you do not see invitation. Follow the instructions to access the Dynatrace Managed environment to create your account and set your password. It is recommended you do this as soon as you receive the invitation, before your exam begins.

A virtual machine is created for use during your exam. Log in to your Dynatrace University account and go to your Dashboard. In the Events section you will be able to view your Certification exam event and classroom. Connection, user, and password information is provided for the virtual machine.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CONNECTING VIA RDP: When you RDP to the public IP and are presented with the credential prompt, try clicking ‘More choices’ and then ‘Use a different account’. Enter dtu.training for the User name and then the password. If that doesn’t work, in the username field try using “dtu-training\dtu.training” or “localhost\dtu.training” without quotes, and then enter the password.

During the exam, you will use RDP (remote desktop protocol) to connect to the Windows VM. It is your responsibility to ensure you can use RDP and know how to connect to a virtual machine at the time of the exam. See System Requirements below.

The application you will be instrumenting is the Dynatrace easyTravel application. We recommend that you read the information about easyTravel found here. The application will be pre-installed on the virtual machine used during the exam, you will not need to install it.

IMPORTANT: The exam environment is not available until your exam time is about to start.

To validate the hands-on portion, you are asked to take screenshots of your work, and paste the images into the test questions.
