Windows Installer popup box keeps and I am not trying to install anything?

I keep getting a Window Installer popup box with message:
“The feature your are trying to is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Intert”HP Photo Smart Essentials then click OK” I keep cancelling box and get another, then another message asking me to insert various disks….I never had any installation disks with computer, so I don’t know why this started. It seemed to coinside with a mouse which stopped working. Sometimes it takes 26 or so times of cancelling before message stops Can anyone help solve problem

It is a problem with HP’s software, not Vista.
