There is following roles and responsibilities of Install Engineer aka Application Packaging Engineer

  • Responsible for efficient and timely assembly, integration, testing and installation of all projects
  • Must have prior experience with using AdminStudio for packaging.
  • Must have packaged applications for Windows XP and Windows 7 OS platform.
  • Must understand and have used one of the following: Windows Command Shell Script, VBScript, or Powershell.
  • Must understand a standard packaging process and workflow.
  • Expertise in virtualizing applications through sequencing is desired
  • Must understand MSI, RPM, Debians packaging best practices and standards.
  • Must have an understanding of software deployment leveraging Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Must have knowledge of desktop deployments for Windows platforms and linux platforms
