What is Asmcmd?
ASMcmd is a command-line utility provided by Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management) that enables system administrators to manage Oracle ASM instances. It provides a command-line interface for managing Oracle ASM disks, disk groups, and files, as well as viewing configuration and status information.
Some of the common tasks that can be performed using ASMcmd include creating and managing disk groups, adding and removing disks from disk groups, querying disk and file information, and managing Oracle ASM files and templates.
ASMcmd can be particularly useful for managing large-scale storage environments with multiple Oracle ASM instances and disk groups, as it provides a streamlined and consistent interface for performing common storage management tasks.
