Window Installer error message when installing FLIP camrecorder software

I tried to install the software that comes with a the FLIP camrecorder and received the following error message. “There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this intall to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.” The FLIP support group said it wasn’t their problem. I have unregistered and re-registered windows installer and reinstalled windows installer 4.5 and still get the same error message. I’m operating XP service pack 3 – home computer. I was hoping to be able to correct this problem myself without incurring the expense of tech support. Anyone have any suggestions?
